We’re staring week six in the face and now it finally feels like football season. The weather here in Indiana doesn’t always cooperate by feeling like the season it should but there is now a crispness to the air. Speaking of crisp, Peyton Manning looks once again like one of the leading MVP candidates. The Arizona defense had stretches of the game where they looked able to stand up to the challenge. Then the best quarterback in the NFL proved to be too much. Also proving to be crisp last week? I nailed thirteen picks, making week five my best so far. I felt pretty confident in my New England pick even though a lot of people were counting them out. I’m not as sure about the picks in week six, but let’s take a look at my winners.
- Colts
- Patriots
- Bengals
- Steelers
- Broncos
- Vikings
- Packers
- Titans
- Ravens
- Chargers
- Falcons
- Cowboys
- Cardinals
- Giants
- 49ers
In the NFC, we’re looking at a game between the Bears and Falcons that will put one team in a pretty rough spot in their playoff hunt. Both teams have had games where they looked exceptional. The Bears can’t seem to get out of their own way. Consistency separates championship contenders from teams that just come close. With the way the Chicago media tears into its team and Cutler in particular, it may be interesting if they can’t muster a good performance in Atlanta on Sunday.
In the Sunday night game we’ll be able to see what kind of momentum the Giants really have. The Eagles have looked downright terrible at moments recently but have found ways to win games. Has that Chip Kelly offense been figured out or are they just not executing well? The Giants started off looking like a cellar dweller and now have gelled as a team and are looking to improve their standings in the NFC.
Finally, I received a message from Ryan Russillo on twitter concerning the stock game. It looks like my Schaub pick would’ve just stayed at the same initial buy price. So my money total from the first quarter would be a lot different. I’ll take a look after the second set of four weeks and get my total dollar loss or gain together. Let me know in the comments if you agree with my picks or if you just wanna tell me how bad the Bucs are. Have a good week.
